CELEBRATION OF LIFE
MARY HELEN CHAMBERS 05/29/1940 ---07/21/2024
Mary Helen Chambers was born 05/29/1940 to the union of the late Claude and Ada Bell Chambers of Laurel, Mississippi. She departed this earthly life on 07/21/2024 with her brother, Jessie Chambers, at her bedside.
Mary Helen resided in Laurel for many years before relocation to stay with her now deceased sister, Barbara Gable. Mae returned to Laurel to stay with her brother, Jessie Chambers, who was her caregiver until her death.
While Mae had speech and physical disabilities, she always managed to say enough words to convey her love for others. She had a smile that lit up the room.
Mae was preceded in death by her parents, several siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins. Her love and memories will forever be cherished by her brothers: Jessie Chambers of Laurel, MS and Moses Chambers of Los Angeles, CA, sisters-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins from the Jones, Oliver and Chamber families.
Those family members who survive Mae are left with the thought penned by Dr. Suess – Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.
John 14:1-3 says, “Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in Me. In my Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”
Celebration: Chapel of Angels Funeral Home, Thursday, 08/01/2024 at 1:00 p.m.
