It is with a mix of sadness and celebration that we announce the passing of George Smith, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, and community member, who left us on July 17, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on June 23, 1940, George embodied the spirit of kindness and generosity throughout his remarkable life. His unwavering love and dedication to his family, especially his beloved wife, Bertha Smith, were hallmarks of his character.George was a man who brought joy to those around him and treated everyone with respect and warmth. His infectious laugh and uplifting stories will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As he joins the angels, we find comfort in the memories he leaves behind, celebrating a life lived fully and purposefully.In honoring George's life, a funeral service will be held at the Faith Sanctuary of Praise in Laurel Ms, on July 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM. This gathering will serve as a tribute to the love and light George shared. Following the service, a public viewing will take place at the same location on July 26, 2025, starting at 9:00 AM, allowing friends and family to share their heartfelt memories and condolences.George's final resting place will be honored with a burial ceremony scheduled for July 26, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Nora Davis Cemetery. We invite all who knew and loved George to join us in celebrating his remarkable life and the legacy of love he leaves behind.
