December 1, 1932 Willie Moore and Octavia Moore Dace welcomed their 1st Child, Dora Moore. She was schooled in a one room school and finished in the 8th grade.
She Married Rufus Ducksworth December 23, 1950 and to this union two children were born.
She was employed as a domestic servant for J. B. & Pinkie Ruffin and a crossing guard for the Laurel City Schools.
Her favorite scripture was Psalms 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” At a very young age she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and proved her love for Him by being a servant to others. She was a long time member of Sweet Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Missionary society president, choir member, Sunday School Teacher and wherever she was needed until her health failed.
Mrs. Ducksworth also served as a member of the Heralds of Jericho and a teacher in the Women’s Institute. She fought a good fight until April 29, 2019 when God called her home.
Services will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Sweet Hope Baptist Church at 11:30 A.M. in Laurel, MS. Burial will be immediately following at Oak Hill #2 Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at Sweet Hope Baptist Church.
